Why Save Sharks?

• Sharks are disappearing at an alarming rate and protection for them is weak to non-existent due to their undeserved reputation as man eaters. We are out to disprove this myth and improve our understanding of these predators through a combination of research, education, public awareness and government legislation initiatives.

  MAN EATING SHARKS OR... MAN, EATING SHARKS?

  Sharks have existed on this earth for approximately 350m years. During that time they have evolved to perform an important role in maintaining the health and balance of the earth's marine ecosystems.
  
  In the last 100 years, 90% of the world's sharks have disappeared. This year up to 100 million more of them will die. That means that we are now taking the last 10% of the remaining sharks. This must stop and we want to do all we can to make that happen.
